The "A" Team

Mon 6th Jun 2016

It was an emotional victory yesterday for Design Manager Chris Achilles, as his Merseyside Team successfully defended their title in the National County Snooker Championship finals.

The date was Sunday 5th June 2016 and the location was the Northern Snooker Hall in Leeds where the challenge between Leicester and Merseyside began! Merseyside were still on a high from their spectacular win over Scotland in March which saw the England representatives beat the Scots in a convincing 50-10 defeat.

It was a tough hard fought match on both sides but eventually, the Merseyside "A" Team reigned supreme with an impressive 33-23 win over the Leicester Lads. Even the support of Leicester legend Mark Selby, the World's No 1 couldn't halt the winning streak for the Merseyside champions.

Team Captain Andy Molyneux nominated Chris to collect the prize cup in memory of his late father Fred, who sadly passed away last November. Fred was a lifelong player, supporter and all round enthusiast of the sport and was well known and loved by all in the world of snooker and billiards.

An emotional Chris was delighted and honoured to accept the prize from the reigning World Snooker Champion, Mark Selby on behalf of his triumphant Team and thought it a fitting tribute to his much missed dad.
